Breath is the source of life: we are considered born and alive at the moment we take our first inhale, and dead as the last bit of air is exhaled out of our lungs. We breathe all the time, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week involuntarily. Rarely do we do so intentionally.
The discipline and practice of pranayama is just that!
Taking some time during the day to voluntarily breathe, transitioning the breather into the here and now, away from the mind chatter and our thought process. Think of it as taking a mental break.
